A writerly fix for your slacker pen

Do you ever find yourself stuck for a blog post idea? Are you having a hard time writing about something new? Do you love a good writing prompt? Well, have I got a treat for you!

Every Monday, a new blog prompt will be listed here. I've scoured the web to find great writing and blogging prompts, which spurred a few of my own. And my list is up to 70 ideas now, though I'm aiming to collect 100. Some of them are creative in nature, like today's, and some are more business-like, and some require you to share a little of yourself with your readers. I've only picked ideas that made me say, "OOH! I could write about that. I'd love to write that one!" So hopefully, you'll feel the same.

I don't expect you to write on all of them, or even many of them, but if you find a few that make your pen itch, well, then I've done my job. There will be no judging or prizes. This is just for fun.

I'm up to my neck in edits on my Work In Progress, but when all I'm doing is editing, my creativity gets zapped. It uses the wrong side of my brain I guess. And while I love the FaithWriter's Challenge, it's lost its fun aspect for me, because I feel I have to write my best. It's good to push yourself to write your best, but it means that my playful muse has been underfed for a while now.

Hence, my 100 Things to Blog About list.

So come back here every Monday, and in the top right corner you'll find the topic prompt of the week. If the prompt isn't original, you'll find a link to its source. I'll be posting my answer to the prompt on Wednesdays, and I hope you'll join me. If you do use the prompt, send me a link to your blog so I can read it.

This week's prompt, from Writer's Digest: You wake up in a darkened circus tent, wearing a bright blue and yellow clown costume and a fluffy red wig. There is a dwarf standing over you with bucket of water. "You okay?" he asks. Write this scene. (500 words or less)

Of note- for any Writer's Digest prompt, if you go to their website, there's a spot for you to enter your response on their website, too.

Happy blogging!

Ooooh so fun! Not sure I'll get to this this week, but I sure hope you collect the links! Would LOVE to read the responses to this one!

Will do. Also going to make a page/nav bar link to all the old prompts. :)
