If you carrot all...

How's this for a reward? If I meet my January writing goals, then I'll reward myself with this: the 5th Annual Short Story Challenge. Rewarding myself with an opportunity to write under pressure? I know, it seems a little weird, but it feels like a juicy reward to me (the writing, not the prize part). It's the permission to spend $39 on a registration for a contest. That's the part that feels frivolous and spendy. The fun part will be scurrying to write superbly in such a short amount of time on a topic that I can't prepare for ahead of time.

I think it sounds fun. Anyone else want to join me? Post your January writing goals on your blog (or here in my comments if you don't have a blog), meet them, and we'll all join the mad dash to write feverishly in February, and have the slimmer possibility of a midnight writing spree in April. If you're in- say so in a comment and we can all help encourage each other to meet our January goals.

Woo-hoo! I love a crunchy new carrot to lure me into doing what I'm supposed to do anyway.

Hey - did you see you missed the early deadline? New price is $49. And it sounds fun - my goals are up.:D
