Back in the Saddle Again.

One intensely laborious day and voila-- I'm caught back up to where I was before the timeline kerfuffle (<--that's for you, Karlene)-- and even a smidgen ahead. A whole 906 words more than I was, what was it? a week ago? Not bad, so averaging about 129 words a day. :cue razz sound:

I'm kidding. I realize the size of the bear I was wrestling and am grateful I realized it now, not another 10 or 20 chapters into the edit. And, bonus, my original 10 chapters are now 11, with still 2 chapters left to fix (I caught up in numbers, not story). It's the little things, right?

Let's blow the dust off the word count cruncher, shall we? (all together now, well, not you with the allergies. ready? one....two.... THREE!)

Tonight's numbers
Total Word Count Target: 90,000 edited words
Total Word Count as of today: 25,371
Approximately 28.1% of the goal
NaNoWriMo suggested target (if I were playing by the rules): 50,000
50.7% of that goal

A super seriously sincere thank you to all of you who have beat back the negative voice demons in my head for the last week. THANK YOU. My manuscript thanks you, our local library thanks you, my husband thanks you (the whining he heard was audible)-- thank you.

Want to know something dumb I did? It's not entirely dumb, but probably dumb timing-wise. I agreed to be the worship leader at church on Sunday. I spent the first 2 hrs of my day working out what I'd say. Too bad I can't count those words! (or all these bloggy words about my lack of a word count). Again- thank you all, your encouragement has meant so much to me.

You'll do GREAT on Sunday, sweetie. And just keep it up as you can. You're making PROGRESS!
