Tonight, I happened upon a song that is bringing new inspiration to my novel. It's by a group from the UK called The Mummers. The song is titled, "See Alice". Some of the lyrics, which I know my MC resonates with are: "I see your face in everything, you don’t even know my name, yours I’ve read a hundred times...You can never get much older, I wish you were real my dear...see Alice, see Alice, see Alice go..." I hope that makes sense to more than just me. (Alice is the name my MC gives the daughter she's forced to surrender for adoption.)

NaNoWriMo suggested target (if I were playing by the rules): 50,000 35.5% of that goal

in a moment of procrastination I plopped my edited pages into a "book size" doc to see how long it was-- 122 pages :) now THAT feels significant.
