Pretty soon, that lovely little counter on the right will start filling up, and my critique partners will have their work cut out for them.If any of you are still feeling wishy-washy about taking your own NaNoWriMo plunge, don't, just jump in. The worst that can happen is you barely write three words and you quit. So what? The reality is you might get 10,000 words written or even 20,000- and that's at least 4-8 chapters (depending on how you write)- which is awesome. Maybe you're not a novelist-- think about how many short stories you could log in a month!
The truth is, I need all the encouragement I can get, and a little competition, with all those buddy bars tallying word counts, encourages me because the first born competitive child in me doesn't like to be beat. So if you want to help me edit my goal of 50,000 words in November, go join NaNo and be my buddy and give me some competition. (I'm LDWA over there. I dare you to buddy me and beat my word count. I triple dog dare you.)

p.s. Tomorrow is my first READER'S REQUEST. Tell me what you want me to blog about- and I'll blog about it tomorrow!

Oooh. I'll take ya on that dare. :P LOL...then again, I probably reeeeaaallly shouldn't. But I want to. ^_^ I'll definitely be cheering for ya.
I just buddied you! My user name is StinaRose. I can't believe that November is upon us. Wow! Let the writing begin!
Will be cheering, but NOT participating! Got some serious editing to work on instead. Goooo girl!
And write about your childhood!
Joanne- as my nano badge indicates (arrrgh) I'll not be a traditional NaNo-er- I'll be an editing rebel. Yer welcome to join me rEDbel vessel if ye like.
Not a bad idea, Lynn - but my editing speed is necessarily determined by my editOR. My non-fiction is being professionally edited, and I'm making fixes and stuff as she sends me the chapters.
And excuse me for not noticing your badge (and are you joining Novel Track: Editing at ACFW?).
Oh, mannnnn! You HAD to invoke the triple dog dare! I was planning to skip this year, but my first born competitive instincts are kicking in, too...
woo-hoo, come on Kristi!!
