You know those beautiful writing moments when you think, "Ooh, that was niiiiiice." (kiss your fingertips like a movie godfather). Well, I didn't have one of those with the last article I submitted to FaithWriters for the challenge. No, in fact, it was more like-- I hope they don't kick me out for passing myself off as a writer. I wasn't even anxious about this morning's "ratings" list because I was so certain I wasn't listed.
Then, I opened my e-mail and there was an announcement saying one of my challenge entries for the last quarter would be published in the upcoming FW anthology. I was tickled, a lot. Hey, so what if this last piece was a big flop, I get to be published, woo-hoo! So, feeling a little more perky, I popped onto the ratings post to see who all actually did make it, and congratulate them. And there, in the top ten, at the bottom of the list-- my name. WHAT!? gobsmacked.
I'm a little giddy. Okay, a lot giddy. So. If you'd like to see my latest Editor's Choice placement, please see Not Worth the Bargain.
Off to send my "yes I agree to the terms of this contract" letter in the mail.
