I clicked on the Writer's Digest competition page, you know, to face my fear. And I got this brilliant idea. There is a special Your Story competition (very similar in feel to the FaithWriters challenge) to create a 35 word or less beginning sentence for the picture they provided. And, you needed to include the number 10. I quickly penned (er, um, keyed) a quick sentence- not really caring how well it does, I just wanted to be able to hit that "submit" button for real. So I did, came up with a fun, though very in-the-box, offering and hit submit-- and as it fled my computer for the e-world I remembered-- there is no number 10 in my sentence. Ah well. C'est la vie. At least I got to hit submit and only sacrificed 34 words- I can deal with that.
My short story is as tweaked as it can get until the last pair of readers give me their input.
Time to get back to that novel; June 30th is not that far away.
