I haven't even begun writing and already I'm hacking my novel to pieces. I realized this morning that I have to amputate the first half of my plot outline. It will just take too long to get to the meat of the story and if I want anyone to read it, I can't put them to sleep with all the made-for-t.v.-movie boring stuff at the beginning. It means major revisions in the second half but at least at this point they are just a few sentences per chapter and easily tweaked. This will let me open up the story to the true tension, truth, and resolution that it needs to share instead of bogging it down with the sad start.
So. hi-ho-hi-ho, it's off to chop I go!
I keep praying my ego will stay in check and take a backseat to what I hear God saying needs to be said (i.e. the real message of Isaiah 49). Yours not mine, yours not mine. Right? right.
Till Later.
