Let's get right to it here.
April's Goals:
Edit as much as possible? Edited word count # up by 1,152 words, bringing the grand total to 31,533 words or 35% done. But, to be noted, I also have 2 halves of the next two chapters (one half from each) done—so…maybe? making a little progress. Infinitesimal though it may seem.
1-2 Blog posts a week? 9 blog posts in April which averages out to slightly more than 2 a week. But I’ll say this was okay and not going too far over what was planned because most were non-posts (posts that didn’t really mean anything and took little time and space- like the nod to the royal nuptials).
1 FaithWriters Challenge entry if editing goal satisfactorily met? No, because goal not met to satisfaction.
1 Fun writing activity? Nope. Not really. I really should have though. That’ll be a must for May.
Good news for May…
My critique group has slowed down because “The End” has happened in two of the books that were circulating amongst us. And, I think no one else has full novels ready for a second round, so there is a lot of writing going on in addition to the critiques. Which means I might have a stab at getting more of mine submitted.
Lovelier weather means my daughters are happy playing outdoors (and not fighting or hanging on Mommy) and I can edit outdoors on the laptop. I think this sounds very conducive to better edited words numbers.
No other major writing projects due this month.
Bad news for this week…
I’ve got Spring fever and am afraid it means I will be outdoors with my fingers in dirt as much as I can help it this week. We’re turning the corner on the last regular frost date and it’s time to get plants in the dirt. In fact, it’s why I haven’t gotten any other writing done in the last few days and why my kitchen is still a mess. It’s also why I have a light pink tone to my cheeks and forehead. The good news of that bad news is, once the plants are in, the bunnies will come and eat most of it and there won’t be much to weed, water, or harvest later.
Which brings us to May’s Goals, right? I think that’s a logical next step.
May Goals:
(because I think I need concrete #’s and not vague #’s) Raise edited word count on BMH by 5K. Yep. I said it.
Blog 1x week. Exceptions being Jewels of Encouragment, or other guest bloggy-related posts.
1 FaithWriters Challenge as my fun writing, because the topic for this quarter is OUT and I’ve been itching to write something for it.
And, for the love of Phyllis, Lori, and Tracy…
Get critiques (of their chapters) submitted within 72 hrs of their submission.
All other writing opportunities will have to be carefully scrutinized for their potential redemptive qualities and the impact they might cause on goal #1.
That’s me in May.
