This Just Read: Minnie and Moo Go to the Moon.
By, Denys Cazet
Children’s Fiction. DK Children. © 1998

From the back cover:
“Use your brain,” Minnie tells Moo. “Cows do not drive tractors.” But Moo has her heart set on trying, and so best friend Minnie goes along for the ride. Roooaaarrr! the old tractor grumbles. Then crash! it spins to a stop. “Where are we?” asks Moo, as feathers drift down from the sky—and they see tiny, angry eyes staring at them. Moonsters! they think, but they are in for a surprise.
My Take:
Hysterical! If you’ve ever had, or imagined you had, a friend who pushes the line between fun and trouble, and you found it exhilarating, then this book is for you.

Denys Cazet sees through a pair of lenses that feel a lot like a prescription I had when I was about 7 years old. I remember strapping things to my bike so it’d sound like a motorcycle (to me), and running away to the enchanted forest near our house (the three pine trees in a grouping on the north side of our house). Denys takes that kind of mindset, adds in a heaping helping of funny and in the end- you’ve got an early reader book for your kids that will have you in stitches and possibly stealing the book from your children.

My son brought this home from his school library and I have since checked out every possible book in the Minnie and Moo line that I can get my hands on.

Need a light read, or something fun to read with your small children? This is it. It even has small chapters, in case you need to break it up- if you can keep yourself from reading the whole thing in one sitting.

This is best read by those who love doing character voices while reading. Don’t let a monotone reader get hold of this.

Highly-recommended, and it’s probably at your library right now.

(There’s at least 19 other books in the Minnie and Moo line that I can find online. So it’s okay if you get hooked.)

Happy hootin' and hollerin' Reading to you,
