I placed in the Writer's Digest Competition!

Giddy. That about describes it.

I just learned that I placed #83 in the top 100 for my short story (the 79th Annual Writing Competition- results posted in December) that I submitted back in May. Unexpected is an understatement. I will even get a certificate of achievement (you know, so that I know it's not just a figment of my imagination).

Feel free to woot-woot for me here, friends.

Now, what to do with my short story. Any ideas, folks?

p.s. for clarification- the competition has 10 categories in which you may enter your story- the top 100 of those get posted online (approx. pool of writers submitting is about 13K, so I'm one of 1000 out of that 13k+/-, and in my category 'genre short story'- I placed #83 out of the 100 for that category). Just didn't want it to seem like more than it is, but am definitely proud of what it is. I hope that makes sense.

Well done! Although I am NOT surprised. You write with eloquence and wit and are an enjoyable read!!
When do we get to read the short story?!

Congratulations. That is a fabulous accomplishment! I am writing primarily novels, so not sure what to suggest with a shorter piece. Frame it, for sure!

Awesome! Amazing! Wonderful news! But I'm not surprised - I've always admired your word-weaving abilities. Congratulations! How exciting for you.
