I'm discovering the beauty of working with those following their calls, using my gift to further theirs, and they in turn enable me to follow mine. It feels so different from working at a job that is just a job. So, now I have a plan. I'm trying to surround myself with things to inspire me created by those who are also following their calls. For instance, I currently have J.J. Heller's album Painted Red playing right now. It's clear from her lyrics and the soul behind her voice that she isn't just singing or writing to sing or write, but because there's a deeper call behind it. I figure if I surround myself with people whose feet are wrinkled from spending so much time in the deep waters of God's spirit than I too, will by osmosis, and perhaps my own foot-dipping, find myself drenched and happy and living out of this call on my life.
And, dear friend, if you happen to get wet from all this splashing around, why that's all the better.
