NaNoWriMo Begins!

Day 1. Word Count at Day's End: 2,568
Not too shabby, thank you. Especially consider this is a Sunday, which means the morning was absolutely lost for writing- I don't think I sat down to the computer until around 2:30pm.

My aim is to hit between 1,667 (daily goal if you want 50K words in 30 days) to 2,500 (daily goal if you think you might only have 20 writeable days-- I'm trying to be realistic, and even 20 is probably a stretch)...so, 2,568, well- that my friends is a first day's success and with it I'm off to bed.

Already, my story is shifting here and there, but so far, I like it. I love my first line. I hope it gets to stay for a while. I'm not sure it'll make it all the way to the finish line, but we'll see.

Want to know my favorite inspiration for the day? Re-sizing my paper to see how my novel-sized writing looks-- it's fun to do because it instantly boosts my page count, makes me feel I've done a lot more than I have.

Okay. Off to make friends with my pillow.

Till later.
