Disappointment.

My AlphaSmart arrived today. It was supposed to be the wonder genius little tool that would allow me to hide out in the woods in a small cottage on Saturday and feign recluse status while I churned out thousands of words to spike my count. Alas. 'Twould all be in vain since I can't transfer anything from the AlphaOutDated to my computer. We tried everything. cable adapters, downloading drivers, different plugs- you name it, we tried it but antiquity and computers don't mix-- so this little baby who is older than I've been married, well, it's going back to the seller and I'm apparently going to lug a laptop and 6? spare batteries to the woodland cottage sans electric. Ah, well.

I'm still deciding if I want the Neo (it was the 2000 I bought, on accident- and before you nitpickers pick- 2000 came out in 97? I think, so don't get smart with me on the whole but you were married in... business.). I'm afraid my AlphaSmart bubble has burst, through no fault of its own.

Now, my son- he thinks the AlphaSmart is awesome, and he wants to type his name in it over & over again. He's four. I think that rests my case.

Now, back to writing. I still have about 250 words left to write this evening to meet my minimum goal- no way I'll reach 10K tonight- too weary for that. But, I'm very glad I've been averaging out to meeting better (ever-so-slightly) than the minimum. (Pats on back) I'm hoping Saturday will be a glorious day of writing, and up my count enough to maybe get me back on the high end of the goal. Time will tell.

I'm shocked at the amount of math I'll do to procrastinate. I'm sitting here writing a novel and the scratch sheet next to me is full of math! Go figure.

Okay. Off to meet the day's goal and then to my cozy covers-- which will hold me a little longer in the morning. I love it when my son doesn't have school (smiles).

Till next time.
